I recently received my New Balance 990 custom and I’m in the process of taking photos for a review. For now, here’s a couple of shots just in case you haven’t seen them on my Instagram or Flickr. You can also read about some of the changes to the NB custom builder here. More photos very soon. BTW, that’s ‘Neptune Blue’ on the mesh.

Customizer: New Balance US574M1 “His Or Hers”

Purchased on September 19, 2012, this year + old New Balance 574 Custom has sat in a corner collecting dust until my New Balance Excellent Makers video was released. The colorway takes inspiration from a woman who was walking in front of me with a dress that had similar hues. I took a photo of her and interpreted it into what you see above. One thing I decided to use was a darker blue instead of a lighter blue/greenish hue on the bottom part of her dress (I did however add a light blue accent on the heel tab which still sticks to the original idea of the dress). I felt that the darker blue gave it a borderline look in which either gender could wear. Though these days it really doesn’t matter what color shoes are on men or women and why its called His or Hers; His or Hers. It’s  a pretty straight forward CW design….

Customizer: New Balance US574M1 Custom “Vagrant Sneaker”

NB874C Vagrant Sneaker 1

It’s been a long time since I posted one of my New Balance 574 customs. So, here’s one thats been seen if you follow me on instagram. It coincides with the same color-way design from the popular “MNR2” that many people love. The MNR2 is what ultimately allowed me to find the colors that would represent me and this blog. The hues come from my birth sign Pisces and the tarot card associated with my birth date (march 15th), the devil. Taking the colors of hot pink (devil), pacific green (water greens associated with pisces) and some black I created a color-way design inspired by two things. My MNR2 and some color-blocking from some of my AM1 iD’s. It can also be seen as the sister to the MNR2 because technically its sort of a reverse of that color-way. These are the reasons I dubbed this one “Vagrant Sneaker”. Stay tuned for another post shortly for my “Glacier Crystal” NB custom that’s still DS and a year old. Enjoy the little photos I have here. They were taken in Florida on July, 2012. I recently had an HD crash where these photos were and I could only find these lying around…

Customizer: New Balance US574M1 Custom “Dark Gage”

My next and 6th New Balance 574 Custom has a color-way that’s been on my mind since May, 2009. The idea came to me while I was out shopping in the city. While in a store I saw a woman’s dress with these similar hues. I took a picture of it to keep for reference. The colors once again came to mind when I recently bought a Cheap Monday shirt and this other shirt. Seeing that the NB574C had plume wine and fresh blue as color options, I went to work on the builder for my next design…

Customizer: New Balance US574M1 Custom “Quatro Azules”

This New Balance 574C “Quatro Azules” has been a color-way that’s been on my mind since the AM1 iD debuted again back in 2009. It was about combining a bunch of blue hues together. The two problems I kept running into were, the shoe looked like a STASH wannabe and others had done it already. After some thought, I decided to skip it and move on. The idea got lost, but not forgotten. It once again sparked my interest in 2011 when I was shown an image by someone…
