Release INFO: New Balance M1300JP

NEW BALANCE M1300JP-119

Can’t believe it’s been 5 years since I bought my New Balance M1300JP. It’s THE must have shoe every NB lover wants and needs in their collection. In fact, anyone that appreciates the pure quality and craftsmanship of shoes should own a pair sometime in their life. With only a few days before release, I present you with a personnel up close look at an original 1984 NB1300. This will give you a better look between the ‘OG’ and ‘New’ make-ups of the 1300. This helps define how well the new 1300 can hold up in comparison to the OG. Be prepared for a load of photos, a message from the lads at Up There Store on some history and how they got a hold of the OG pair. Thanks to Jason from Up There Store for sending these images over…

Release Reminder: New Balance x Ronnie Fieg ” Central Park and Brooklyn Bridge”

1_85160e6b-51e0-4f2b-be70-6ad3e596964b

Ronnie Fieg is back at it again with New Balance. This time releasing two models side by side on the same day. RF takes a crack at the 530 and 580 models with make ups that take inspiration from two of New Yorks landmark. Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge; where each of his retail stores reside. Simple stories with one really good outcome, and another that is rather boring looking. By far, the NB530 Central Park is the winner here with loads of intricate details. It comes dressed with a quilted vamp and ankle liner, reflective 3M, micro perforated nubuck, leather, suede, map of Central Park on the insoles, half of a gum sole and a colorway that resembles Central Park in the fall. Brilliant. As for the the NB580, it comes with some microperforated saddle leather, suede, splatter to the midsole, two tones outsole and the OG schematics to the Brooklyn Bridge on the insoles…

Autumn/Fall 2014 is here and the leaves have turned to the nice yellow-brown hues you see here. With that comes the footwear choice for the season. This particular New Balance M998BB is one of those pairs that fit perfect as a nice contrast to the leaves. It’s also one of the best 998s out there in my opinion. The materials tell the story; leather accents, beautiful suede, the rare perforated toe box and ankle on an NB. Enjoy the other photos…

A few days ago I UNDS’d one of the most anticipated retro releases from New Balance, the M997GY. Talk about quality, shape, materials and details. This has it all. Just like last years NB M990GRY 30th anniversary, these came out in limited release world-wide (Those that missed on the 990GRY will get another opportunity to buy it again next year). The make-up comes in the classic New Balance grey. A hue that pretty much goes with whatever outerwear you choose. Basically, It’s one of those rare gems that everyone should have in their closet. Material wise, it’s stitched upper is fixed with beautiful buttery pigskin suede, mesh and various details throughout the shoe that you can view in these photos. For me, it’s the best general release of the year 2014. I don’t think there’s any other GR that can come close to this from an overall quality standpoint.  Enjoy the other photo…

Coming Soon: New Balance x JCrew 998 “Concrete Jungle”

m1_nb998_aa_v2_m56577569832916230

Here’s a look at the next New Balance and JCrew collaboration. It’s another made in the USA NB 998 model and this time they are taking in the colors of army camouflage. From the looks of it, it introduces that army green again we’ve seen them use on one of their prior releases. They mixed that up with grass green, tan, brown and orange accents through out the shoe to create this 998 “Concrete Jungle”. If you don’t get “Concrete Jungle”, well it’s simple. Camouflage on your feet for walking the streets. It’s definitely not as clean as their Independence or Inferno colorways though. It’s a bit busy, but I guess that’s taking cue from the camouflage pattern itself. Overall the story is executed well, but it could have been better without that grey mesh. I believe it throws off the shoe a bit….
